Popeyes: Reimagining the Animation

Crafting the Brand Motion Identity

When Popeyes UK reached out to our nerds to evolve their motion identity, they needed a contemporary video strategy targeting a younger, urban demographic.

The brief was to build a series of kinetic short-form videos around core brand pillars like 12-hour marination, shatter crunch texture, and NOLA roots.

Stepping away from rigid digital templates, our nerds brought a handcrafted touch to the motion design, combining hand-written on-screen copy, dynamic graphic accents like stars and colour pops, skip-frame animation, and tactile light leaks.

Layered directly over high-speed food footage and NOLA street scenes, this created a seamless mix of street-art personality and craveable appetite appeal.

Multi-Market & Store Rollout

With the UK motion framework established, Popeyes tasked our nerds with taking the identity across the Irish Sea for their major Ireland launch, driving instant FOMO around “The Chicken Sandwich That Broke The Internet” with raw, 3-second visual hooks.

We then adapted and implemented the asset package across flagship launches and regional store expansions. From tailored screens for Tottenham Court Road, Stratford, and Blanchardstown to punchy vertical edits for TikTok and Meta, we delivered a scalable, zero-boring motion toolkit that turned up the NOLA energy on every screen.

"The MediaNerd team have been brilliant partners this year, helping us bring some of our most important launch moments to life through bespoke animation, screen content and campaign video. From our first restaurant in Ireland to the new Tottenham Court Road concept, they’ve understood the role of the work perfectly. Creating content that adds atmosphere, energy and a real sense of brand, rather than just filling a screen."
