The nerds teamed up with Earnest and Director Will Dennis to create a fun and energetic promotional video and supporting instructional videos to bring Whiz to life in a way that is sure to be remembered.
A robot that cleans the offices on its own – sounds like a dream, right? We had the pleasure of working with Director Will Dennies, Earnest and their client Softbank to create a compelling commercial for their vacuum cleaner as well as some easy, self-explanatory videos so customer knows just how to use the product most effectively.
Pre-production revolved around earning how to teach the vacuum the route we wished it to take for the advertisement. Teaching robots is a lot more peaceful than teaching humans however the lack of verbal communication did make it a little more challenging at first.
The set-up day brought various challenges from laying 250 individual carpet tiles for the staging of the set to building scaffolding towers for lighting and incorporating a cardboard set props we had never seen.
The use of a Steadicam operator and a First AC enabled us to compliment the flow of the choreography, resulting in a high-energy, clean and polished routine.
When creating the instructional videos, we were able to use a probe lens which allowed the customer to see exactly what is inside the product, without breaking it apart to see for themselves.
