Imagine being asked to film glazed donuts filled with Nutella to get the perfect shot of it oozing out. Now that your mouth is watering, here is how we went about doing just that.

 

Shooting at 940 frames per second, we shot the whole campaign in a 1 second shot for each donut. Working with robotic equipment and the most desirably edible props, we came up with a concept for an advertisement based on the new custard filled and Nutella filled Krispy Kreme donuts. It had to show the filling by breaking the donut in half.  As delicious as this shoot was, there were a few holes we had to fill throughout the day. The fillings were not liquified enough for us to create the oozing effect.

Therefore, we needed to microwave the filling then inject the filling into the plain glazed donuts. Essentially, we recreated the donut from scratch all for the premium melt. We also had to ensure the focal point of the hand model as the robot operated the camera in a 1 second swoosh, it was no surprise the model jumped on the first take! Oh, we also managed to work our way through almost 200 doughnuts to produce these two videos with a few eaten here and there.
